I'm going to Kassel...

OK. so I am getting transferred. I am going to Kassel (heard it's cool) and my companion is Elder Kossin. I think that is how you spell his name. I leave tomorrow.

Sounds like it was an eventful week for you guys.

I didn't go to Berlin. I stayed in Chemnitz which is an hour away. Elder Coleman had a training meeting.
I got the ties from Dad. They are both cool and skinny, almost too skinny, but look good with my new suit. The box I am sending to grandma is gonna be about 50 euro to send. It's kinda really heavy, 16.9 kilo. I don't know how much that is in lbs.

I said goodbye to a bunch of people yesterday, got some pictures.

I sent you some pictures that you can use for the card board cut out. I will send more picture of just fun stuff next week.

last night I made Star Wars cup cakes, that was fun.

I have also been packing like no other and one of my bags weighs about 72 lbs. haha Grandma's food. It's gonna be crazy carrying all my stuff around, but I only have one train change on the way to Kassel.

Don't really have much to say this week. I looked good on Sunday and it's starting to get cold out here.

Well, that's all for this week.

I love you bunches.

The spirit was so strong!

I just notice that all the chocolate I bought for you, all has nuts in it, so I will have to find something special for you and send it later. I am sending a big box to grandma next week and I am sending home my bane jacket that dad bought for me, both my boots and slip on shoes. I have way to much stuff to carry around a mission and I really don't need it. I have thermals and my testimony to keep me warm. I'll be fine.

As far as the food from oma and opa.  I haven't tried everything yet. The sweet and sour chicken was my favorite. Of course the sweets were good and the tart was delicious, tasted just like a pop tart. I loved it and I realized why they are called pop tarts, but they seriously won't need to send me anything for a while cause that will last at least 6 months if not longer.

That is super cool that our ward is growing. It's gonna be completely different by the time I get back.

We haven't watched the last session of conference yet because of the time difference.

The Tuesday before Genreal Conference, my companion and I were in an appointment with a lady, Frau H., who we have been meeting with for 6 months. Frau H. is one of the sweetest ladies I have every met and she loves to cook for us and speak with us about what we as Mormons believe. She has told us in the past, multiple times, that she has no intention of leaving her Church, but is open minded and willing to learn about our Church. This appointment was a special appointment because we decided to bring the Sister missionaries along, so they could meet Frau H. and get to know each other, so that eventually she will be comfortable enough with the them, that the Sister will meet with her instead of the Elders, because she lives alone. We had a wonderful meal and a wonderful light discussion about church organization. She seemed very interested and deep in thought. the spirit was there and we could all feel it. The sisters invited her to come to General Conference, so that she could hear and see the Leaders of our Church. We handed her an invitation that our Ward Mission Leader had made for us to give to people. She looked at it and notice that we had a session on Saturday that she would be available to attend. We all had big smiles on our faces, because we knew that the reason she wanted to attend the Saturday session, was because she wanted to attend her church on Sunday. We told her that was great and that we were very excited, which we were. She had attended Sacrament meeting once before and said she enjoyed it very much. We left her house that day with big smiles, knowing that what she would see and hear on Saturday, would have a great impact on her life. Saturday evening, just before 6 o'clock pm. We walked into the Chapel and looked around for Frau H.. We saw her sitting next to Schwester Ebisch. she looked slightly uncomfortable, so we went over and talked to her for a bit until it was time for conference to start. Since we, the Missionaries, speak English they set up a projector for us in the other room with the English Broadcast and Frau H. was in the Chapel watching it in German. We sat through conference and had a wonderful time listening to all of the inspirational words that were said. After it had finished, we quickly went into the chapel to see what Frau H. thought of the Session she had just seen. As we walked into the chapel, the spirit was very strong. We quickly walked over to Frau H. she looked as if she had seen a miracle, that she couldn't believe had happened. She told us that the talk by President Dieter F. Ukdorf was like something she had never heard before. It had touched her heart. She was so stunned that she had goose bumps on her arms. She told us that that talk was something else and we knew that she had felt the Spirit stronger than ever before. In that moment she looked so beautiful, her spirit was glowing. I was so happy for her. This Tuesday, the Sisters are visiting her by themselves because we have a meeting in Berlin. I believe that she was changed that Saturday and I am so grateful that i could be hear to witness it.

I love you so much. I really enjoyed the videos you sent me. Thank you.

I GOT A PACKAGE...

I got the package from oma and opa. They sent me so much food. My little suit case had to be emptied out, so that I could fill it with food. It now weighs 45 pounds, all food and not all of the food fit in the bag.  I'm glad they remembered me, that makes me happy. Can't wait to see them when I get back. I'll have muscle and be bald, it'll be great.

So I am getting odd stomach pains, it feels uncomfortable sometimes. I am not sure what to think about it but I will wait to see what happens.

Not sure if I will buy a suit just yet, but Elder Coleman and I are going to buy some companionship shoes and possible shirts. I will try to keep it cheep.

This week wasn't bad. We went back to the mine, but it was a different mine. We also went to a look out point and did some other fun stuff with Uwe. He is cool. Björn is really cool. I have a 16 which is full of videos, completely full. Another 16 almost full of pictures and a 32 that is really full.

I will be testing out the avi video, to see it works here.

Also, I am pretty sure we are getting those ipads soon, in like a month or two. There have been some rumors going around about them, but I won't tell you anything until I know for sure.

I have €100 in cash... sort of. I actually ran out of mission funds, so I have to pay myself back over time. It's a long story but all is good. No worries.

well, I gotta go write Dad. Time is almost up.

Love you tons and thank you for all that you do. keep eating those apples and eating healthy.

I love you mom.

Cookies from the Sisters = Happy

Yes, bow ties for the wedding. You should totally get me one that I can wear when I get back. I haven't taken those picture yet fyi. I have not burnt a tie yet. Gotta find a place to do it. Elder Coleman is awesome. He is really cool. We went suit shopping last week and it was killing me. All I bought was a 1 euro hat. haha. We don't have many investigators. It's pretty slow. We are going to start doing a mission prep class here for the youth. Elder Marshall was DL 2nd and 3rd transfer, so it's not bad. We have a car again. We just use it when we need to and the Sisters use it when they need to. No we didn't baptize the people in the video, they were old and grumpy.

Having Sister below us is pretty awesome. Sometimes we make them food and they make us cookies and pancakes.

I write Kolton an email every week and he writes me as well. Oh, I didn't know Jessica is in SLC.

We can't use facebook yet. Once we get iPads we can use it. I think we will get them in about a month or 2.

Yes, you sent all the right stuff. Thank you so much.

We are going through the cave again, but this time with a member named Uwe and the Sisters, should be really fun.

So, do I have that money from working with dad. I am not going to use it until maybe Christmas. Might buy myself something for Christmas. The shoes and suits here are so nice and cheap compared to America. A kid in my group got a nice suit for like 40 or 50 dollars last week. It was crazy.

well, I don't really have too much to say sorry. No video this week :( I made one, but don't have time to upload it, so I will do it next week. I love you tons.

I love you mom

Walking, Walking and more Walking :)

So, I sent you a video of me and Elder Youngblood. haha it's really funny. I swear I'm happy. I have just been making videos where we look depressed, ha-ha.

Any way, I have been having a lot of fun with Elder Coleman. He is awesome and I have gotten so much music from him. I have been keeping in contact with Kolton and he is doing good. Its really fun to see how people grow. Tell Mike I say hi. If there is anything Grandma and Grandpa would like to send me, that would be OK as well. I can't really think of anything else at the moment. I will think of some things once I get off the computer, that's usually how it happens. oh, I might buy a scarf, a new belt and maybe some jeans today, not sure. I don't really have much to say. Got the letter from Kelli, that was a nice surprise. I will try to write back as soon as possible, but I have been really bad at writing lately. I have missed 12 days in my journal. I fell like a turd. We have been eating other stuff, but I feel like there isn't a bunch of cheep things that we can buy, that are healthy. We are eating pizza this week, that we are making and we are also making baked stuff. I think when I get home, I will go vegetarian... except for chicken. I am never giving up chicken and possibly the occasional hamburger.

well, I don't really have much to say.... I guess that's it for this week.

love you lots and hope you get feeling better.

Love, your favorite missionary,

New Companion is a Chef :)

My new companion is awesome. He is a chef from London. We need a recipe for Yorkshire puddings, then we can make them.

I was with Elder Savage when Elder Youngblood got to Annaberg, so I got to see him. I will try and get a picture of the District this week.

We didn't do any painting or cleaning of our apartment. Our ward did it all, but we had to organize and clean the junk out of our new apartment. It took us a while and I haven't been feeling good either this past week. Pretty sure I'm slowing dying, but that's OK.

Björn is super cool. Sister Hansen and Helzer (I think I spelt those right. ha-ha, that was funny) are in our old apartment.

I have actually been emailing Bruder Dixon. I didn't know he was getting married that fast. wow.

We got our car taken away, cause the APs car broke down in freiberg, so they came and took ours until their car is fixed. There is also a rumor that we will be getting a new car in Schwarzenberg in 30 days. That will be nice... for the Sisters. They will be taking the car most of the time, because we have a lot of single ladies in the area. I am pretty sure that eventually there will just be sisters in this area. There is not enough work for Sisters and Elders.

Well, we got to do a bunch of cleaning this past week and I got a little sick.

We think that the type of video file that will play in the dvd player is an avi file. Maybe lets try that. Well I need to give myself a hair cut today cause it looks like... yikes.

I realized I don't have a light weight coat yet. I couldn't ever find one when I got over here. I might end up buying one, but I don't know yet. Everything is cheep when it comes to clothes, so don't worry about it being really expensive. I'm also going to be buying some space bags, so that I can have more room in my bags. and I will be sending things home or throwing them away, cause I don't need or want them. Still working on those pictures for the cut out. I kinda wish I had a better suit to wear for this, since there are going to be lots of people seeing me at the reception. You look beautiful in that dress, you should get it. I have started exercising. How is the ward doing?

well, that's all for this week. I am hungry, so I am going to go write a letter to dad. love you lots and thanks for all that you do.

I love you.

Love,
Elder Crotts

P.S. How is Misty doing?

Transfer time again...

I am...

Part 1

Part 2

staying. ha-ha yay, but Elder Marshall is leaving. Elder Coleman is my new companion. He's a Brit from London. Super cool. We are also getting Sisters in our area and remember how I said they are going to paint our apartment and remodel the kitchen. Well they are also going to refurnish it... and then give it to the Sisters. ha-ha, so for now we are moving in with Björn who is moving in upstairs.

My address is still the same, probably be that way for a bit, so just go ahead and send it.

I have things I need to send home because I have too much stuff. We got locked out of our car this week, the key hole broke, so yeah, but we eventually got in and figured everything out. Except we can't lock our car anymore, that's a bummer. Our bikes are slowly breaking, ha-ha, its awesome. well, lets see what has happened this week, not much, other than everything. We have a lot of work to do on the apartment. I think bow ties would be a good idea for the wedding, a really good idea. yeah. I'm not sure what else to say, ha-ha. I have been waiting for a letter from Emy. Oh yeah, we found a dead bird in a mail box and there is no way it could have gotten there by itself. Some one put it there, so nappy. I got a letter from Amy, the girl I met on that iPod app, that I hung out with at Provo mall for a bit. She is in the MTC. Forgot where she is going though. I am basically out of things to talk about.

I am excited to be getting a new companion, but President said that I won't be staying in schwarzenberg to much longer, so that means I will be getting transferred possible next time. We met with president last Friday. He came to our district meeting. Talked with Sister Kosak a bit and got to know her. She is super funny. We had a ward sports party, played volleyball and little games. Well, now I am out of things to talk about. . . I think bow ties would be fantastic. Well, that's really it. I cant think of anything else. love you tons.

Love,

Elder Crotts
